LAN and WLAN

Being well-networked is not only important in the working world but also on your PC. Connecting to the Internet is standard today. Use the wide range of offerings from ECOM Trading to ensure every end device in your home or company network has optimal access to the World Wide Web.

Accessing the Internet

A router is the gateway to the Internet. Without the connection between the router and PC it is not possible to access all the content on the Internet. A WLAN router fulfills many tasks these days. Firstly, it enables tablets, smartphones, desktop PCs, notebooks, smart TVs or game consoles right through to printers or an external hard drive on a variety of end devices to be integrated via WLAN. Secondly, the router acts as a firewall to prevent your personal data from being spied on. This makes safe online access possible from every device and at all times. The product range at ECOM Trading includes a large selection of WiFi routers that are compatible with the commonly used operating systems.

Faster data traffic thanks to switches

So-called switches are used in larger networks. They ensure that the data packets can be distributed efficiently. The network switch does this by detecting in advance who the recipient of the data is and thereby send the data intelligently. In a network with multiple devices, a switch enables a higher transfer speed to be achieved. Using the gigabit switches available from ECOM Trading, data can be transferred at speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second.

WLAN adapter

A WLAN adapter is needed if an end device cannot be connected to a wireless network. This can be the case, for example, for an older model where an Internet connection has only been possible using a LAN cable. Most NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices can only be integrated into the network via LAN. A flexible alternative is the WLAN adapter. An Xbox 360 or a smart TV that is not equipped with the necessary hardware can also be connected to the Internet via an external WLAN adapter. ECOM Trading offers various solutions for this. Firstly, there is the Powerline adapter that can be used with the existing electrical cables to set up a WLAN network. Secondly, wireless connection devices with a large housing are available that can work over long ranges. At Ecom, you can choose from the most widely used and proven models from the manufacturers TP-Link and NETGEAR.
